Physical Laboratory Services
Our company’s earliest days in the 1950’s were grounded in laboratory testing and our original tagline: Test and Be Sure. We maintain that old-school understanding with state-of-the-art tools today to determine structural integrity before putting a material to work.
The Challenge Engineering physical laboratory offers accurate and fast physical testing for a wide range of industries and materials. We incorporate the following test methods:
- Brinnell/Rockwell Hardness Testing
- Compressive Strength Testing
- Specimen Tensile Testing
- Stress/Strain Chart Recording
- Charpy V-Notch Impact Testing
- Load Cell/Jack Calibrations
- Nick-break and Bend Testing
- Proof Load & Pull Testing
- Burst Testing
- Stress Rupture Testing
- Sample and Milling/ Machining Facilities
- Weld and Braze Testing
- Paint/Coating Examinations
Fabricated components are the building block of construction. The fabrication process can cause defects in the materials used, and weldments must be inspected prior to use to ensure integrity. We have more than 50 years of experience evaluating fabricated components for flaws. Our in-house welding facility and AWS-certified welding inspectors certify and qualify welders and welding procedures for the most demanding industries.
All physical testing occurs within our ISO-accredited facility, meeting the standards of more than a dozen different agencies. We also offer field testing, with the option to have certain materials or equipment examined on-site by a qualified technician seasoned in your specific industry or project needs.
We understand the need for not just quality but quick turnaround times. You need precise measurements on tight deadlines, so a project stays on track. If your timeline demands, we are happy to further expedite your testing analysis. Computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) services are available for professional presentation of inspection detail.
